Apple's $100 Million IPod Payout - Wired News

Looks like Apple Computer has finally settled with Creative over the lawsuits for Apple's IPod infringing on Creative's Patents. Quote:

" "Creative is very fortunate to have been granted this early patent," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "This settlement resolves all of our differences with Creative, including the five lawsuits currently pending between the companies, and removes the uncertainty and distraction of prolonged litigation."

Creative chairman and CEO Sim Wong Hoo called the settlement "amicable." "

Though I would say the settlement is a splash in the bucket compared to Apple's earnings on the IPod, it looks like $100 million was the magic number. Steve Jobs can rest easier, knowing he is no longer in hot water with Creative, though I am sure he lost no sleep over the whole ordeal.
